The Zimbabwean Catholic Bishops’ Conference issued a pastoral letter on 14 August 2020. Its title, “The March is not Ended”, echoed the words of late American civil right activist and politician John Robert Lewis. In introduction, bishops reminded their fellow citizens that “Peace building nation-building are never completed tasks. Every generation has to establish national cohesion peace”. using biblical text from Micah 7:1–6 where prophet denounced corruption oppression in his own days, took swipe at political leaders. African politicians take responsibility for misrule continent, which kept Africa largely underdeveloped. perplexity situation Zimbabwe reflective similar situations other parts sub-Saharan leaders look way shift blames. This research undertakes explore how Church fared its prophetic mission relation political-cum-socioeconomic questions continent. It will acknowledge instances Church, through certain prelates, proven itself be moral conscience. also indicate efforts closely align with those Pope Francis as defender truth, human rights social justice. Contribution: Africans, like most people world, have very simple vision good life: live reasonable material comfort peace. essentially anchored within teaching. underscores defended continues uphold actualize aspiration life hostile self-serving socioeconomic context. notes cannot place because role basically promotion common good, includes public order peace, development, equality, justice solidarity.
